The best ways to Discover Your Target Audience
What marketing method will help you get a devoted audience that hangs on to your every word and buys everything you have to offer?

Often it appears like no matter what marketing method you try to market and get your business going, you can not seem to actually get through to your audience and make a sale.

Possibly you've been working to construct a business for time now.

Possibly you did this to help get more money to provide for your family.

Possibly you want to travel the world more (this would be me, by the way).

Possibly there is something that you feel you were put on this earth to do, a true calling that you want to focus on ...

But for some reason, no matter what marketing method you try, no matter how many people you speak to, no matter what you say, you just can not seem to make a real connection with your audience so that they make the decision to do something about it and buy from you.

So what the hell is going on below? What should change in your marketing method?

The real issue is that you might be speaking to either not a focused enough of an audience, or you're trying to speak to an audience that you actually have nothing in common with.

I've tried this marketing method before, and it blew.

As a massage therapist and former U.S. Army soldier, I tried at one point to cold call realtors to get them to enjoy a performance and join the business I was in at the time. I would rather consumed a gallon of paint thinner than do that once more.

I wasn't a realtor, and it was evident no matter what script I made use of or lingo of theirs I learned. Not only did I sound like a fraud, I also felt like one.

So what marketing method can we make use of to actually find out our target market, so we can craft a message that speaks directly to them?

Simple: Start with YOU!

One time I had a mentor by the name of Tony Rush tell me "You don't attract who you want; you attract who you are.".

This message was originally said from a personal development viewpoint (meaning if you are a negative person, you'll bring in negative people, and so on).

That being said, this message can in fact be read in a different way: we will also bring in people who also speak our language (so to speak) and are into what WE 'RE into as well: our hobbies, our passions, similar past experiences, and so on.

So now the real question that you actually should ask when finding your target market is this:.

Who Are You?

There are over 7 billion people in this world. As distinct as we all are, opportunities are if you have something you like, then opportunities are there are ample people you can speak to who are into the same things.

So if you want to learn who your real target market is, start with asking questions about who you are and what defines you.

Think of every definition YOU have about yourself that can apply to other people. Write down 20-50 definitions you have about yourself (BE SPECIFIC!).

For example:.

Where you're from.
What you do with your time.
Jobs you had in the past (and/or have now).
Dreams you had in the past that you gave up on.
Things that you work towards.
Things that you do in your leisure.
What you have been trained to do.
What you struggled with in the past.
Anything that makes you say "I am X" or "I do Y with my time".

Know Thyself, Know Thy Audience.
