First Read A Fair Write-Up On this Particular La Romana Shore Excursion.
I was on an 8 day Carnival cruise and hoped for an excursion for La Romana which focused more about wild birds and wildlife versus history or local architecture. I've been so grateful to find such La Romana excursion, with TanamaBayahibe.com. I emailed the company three weeks in advance of our cruise and discussed our excursion through email. The rate for the 5 hour excursion was half the price of any Carnival excursions and was the best excursion we joined throughout our entire trip.

I've got to stress there was a little mix-up once we departed the ship trying to find our taxi, because the staff on the dock isn't going to really aid passengers using private operators. This is on no account the fault of this excursion company. Possibly you have to question around a little. We arrived by cab at the starting point and embarked the riverboat.

The boat ride up the river was calm so we liked seeing locals, anglers, and tons of fauna throughout the cruise. We arrived at the farm and began a guided tour. There is a superb butterfly conservation area and the staff offered an excellent presentation about the butterflies lifecycle. The kids were actually able to hold a few caterpillars. Being a adult, I also think it is amazing. We were taken on a quick trek through the jungle (rainforest) where we discovered purple hummingbirds (a thing I have never observed before). We held snakes, iguanas, as well as parrots. Info by Robert was fun and did you know an iguana listens to through their eyes?

The staff also served fresh fruit, bread, and a ton of cocktails. The fruits came straight of the trees!! We had a terrific time and can't believe the value. Schedule this La Romana excursion when you arrive in La Romana!
